Because of Irena Sendler's courage and leadership, by stepping up out of hundreds to rescue the Jewish children, thousands of lives act as her living legacy. Kate Wilhelm, Emilee Bennett, and Jenna Fellows, 8th grade students from Thomas Edison Charter School North, created this documentary to compete in a school history fair in November 2014. After taking second place with their documentary, they competed in the regional competition at Utah State University, and made it to state. At Murray High School in Murray, Utah, they took first place. Finally, they got to take this project to the National History Day (NHD) in Washington, D.C to compete there.
